First Japanese Individual to finish a Coolangatta Gold.
This is Yutaka,s – Story:
Arriving in Australia as a representative for the Japanese and Gold Coast City Council Lifeguard Service International Lifeguard Exchange Program. Yutaka fell in love with Australia and soon applied for a Student visa and started studying in Australia as a chef working part time as a Professional Lifeguard. Yutaka started training for the Coolangatta Gold. As Yutaka had a surfing fitness background we had a base to start with. Never being on a Surf Ski before we had to start from scratch. However we had 2 years to prepare.
The race in 2007 Comprised of an 23km Ski Paddle, 3.5km Swim, 5km Board Paddle, and a 11km,4km, and 1km Run
